It's the Fate for Kenyans!!

What's the Fate of Kenyans?

In Kenya, it's always forward ever backward never. We wash dirt under the rug so fast and forget about it so fast. Even the Shakahola tragedy will pass and be forgotten... Have you noted that it's fading slowly? The media is fatigued about covering it. God forbid is Mackenzie bites the dust today, the tragedy will fade so quickly like morning dew. We forgot about the PEV of 2007/2008, and 2017. We forgot about the Arthur brothers saga, we forgot about the findings of thmany government initiated commissions of inquiry i.e.  the commission on devil worshipping, the Ndugu land report, the Krieger report, and other scandals like, Goldenburg, Anglo leasing, the Triton scandal etc. Even the Aror and Kimwarer Dam scandal has already been forgotten. Our poor memory is the reason why we don't hold public officials accountable. It's the reason why we don't look at the track record of the leaders we elect to represent us. One of the Kenyan artists- Kaka Sungura made a song about our foolishness as a people... I wish we all thought deeply about Kaka's lyrics. After our representatives betrayed us by voting for the archaic Finance Bill which is now law, by 2027, it's only a fraction of Kenyans
who will remember how majority of our MPs betrayed us by voting for a bill which, when looked deeper, does not offer any safeguards to address our economic challenges as a nation. The Finance Bill will only serve the political interests of a few leaders in the country-those whose central focus is to impress Western donors, greedy investors, the  Bretton Woods institutions- IMF & World Bank, China etc. Don't be cheated that the Finance Bill 2023-2024 is intended to serve the interests of the hurting nation. Until we stand still; stand strong, and look back and analyse where we are as a nation 6 decades after attaining self rule, our country's future is bleak.

As a people, we need to utilize our weak democracy to vote against leaders who don't reflect the ideals of nationhood. We need to bring into power leaders who are selfless and not selfish. Those who are other-centered and not self-centred. We need to route for men and women who augur patriotic ideals and not those whose intentions is to capture power for purposes of enriching themselves and their henchmen. From  Jomo Kenyatta, Daniel Moi, Mwai Kibaki, who are now late, to Uhuru Kenyatta, and now William Ruto, looking at the five, I see greed, nepotism, tribalism, cronyism, injustices, selfishness, and the pursuit of self-enrichment.
Between Jomo Kenyatta and now William Ruto, I don't see a Moses, a David or even a Joshua who tried or is trying to lift the country from the abyss. Our leaders since independence are talkers, jokers, phonies, liars etc. They talk the talk but don't walk the walk. They wear the wrist watch but don't operate in punctuality. They parade themselves in display; always talking tough but all is hot hair. They lack discipline. They suffer from selective amnesia. They have no ideals or political beliefs that they hold so dear in their leadership journey. They are so sucked into the acquisition of power and it's retention that the aspirations and challenges of Kenyans are secondary to them. To finish, the future of Kenya is bleak but not hopeless. We shall overcome. A David will emerge to clean away Kenya's leadership garbage. I pray that this happens in our generation. But let's rethink?? Is it Our time for an immediate Action??
Have you ever found yourself waiting for that elusive "someday" to accomplish your goals? If so, you're not alone. It's natural to get caught up in the idea that there will be a perfect day when you'll have time, energy, and motivation to tackle your dreams. But the fact is, "someday" is not a day of the week, and waiting for it to arrive is like chasing a rainbow.

Denise Brennan-Nelson's children's book "Someday is not a day of the week" tells the story of a young beaver who realizes that most people postpone their dreams until an imaginary day. As he searches for this day on the calendar to no avail, he learns a valuable lesson: the time to take action is now.Similarly, in our daily lives, we often find ourselves putting off our goals until a "more convenient" time. But as we know, life can be unpredictable, and that perfect day may never come. The key to success is creating habits that become part of your daily routine, regardless of how busy or hectic your schedule may be.It's important to start with small, achievable goals that you can work on gradually. Instead of trying to overhaul your entire life in one fell swoop, try to break your goal down into smaller, more manageable steps. Each time you accomplish one of these steps, you'll feel a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment, which will motivate you to keep going.

Building habits isn't about a quick fix or instant gratification. It's about investing in long-term growth and progress. Just as a tiny seed grows into a tree, small habits can blossom and transform your life.
As you progress along your journey, remember to celebrate every step of the way. Whether it's something as small as drinking a glass of water every morning or running a mile every day, each accomplishment is worth acknowledging. These celebrations will help you stay motivated and committed to your goals.
So take a deep breath and relax. You're on a fabulous path to creating the life you want, one habit at a time. Just relax.
