 A trailer heading to Kericho is said to have lost control and rammed into awaiting matatus parked at the junction, boda boda riders and traders who hawk at the spot.More than 55 people are reported to have died, and several others hospitalised following a tragic accident that occurred at Londiani junction on Friday, June 30, at 6:30 pm.

More than 55 people are reported to have died, and several others hospitalised following a tragic accident that occurred at Londiani junction on Friday, June 30, at 6:30 pm.
According to Londiani OCPD Agnes Kunga, said ;rescue operations were still underway, with several bodies still trapped inside vehicles and some under the truck.

The County of Kericho dispatches ambulances to help in helping people who were injured beyond recognition.
 Kericho governor Erick Mutai confirmed the incident, offering his condolences to those who've lost their loved ones.
The governor described the accident as a dark moment for the people of Kericho  adding that he was crushed by it deep in his heart. He lamented that:
"My heart is crushed. It is a dark moment for the people of Kericho. My heart goes out to the families who have just lost their loved ones in a worst Road Carnage at Londiani Junction," said the governor.
He said his government had mobilised ambulances to respond to the horrific scene, adding that medical facilities and staff have been placed on standby to receive casualties.
